Bundle components

R5 direct-drive wheel base

The R5 uses direct drive and delivers 5.5 Nm peak torque. MOZA specifies a 15-bit encoder, 1000 Hz USB refresh rate and steering-angle range up to 2700 degrees. The aviation-grade aluminium-alloy housing keeps the base compact, while four threaded holes on the underside support fixed mounting. The rear interfaces cover power, data, display, pedals and wheel input.

ES steering wheel

The 11-inch round ES wheel uses microfiber leather on the grip with an aluminium-alloy frame and front plate. It provides 22 buttons and ten LED elements, with supported lighting and control functions configurable through MOZA Pit House. The wheel attaches through MOZA's quick-release system and can be removed without unbolting the wheel base.

SR-P Lite pedal set

The included SR-P Lite set contains throttle and brake pedals; a clutch is not included. The high-strength steel construction uses Hall sensors for pedal position. Spacing and pedal-plate height are adjustable, and MOZA supports input calibration, input reversal and output-curve adjustment. An anti-slip pad is included, although hard mounting is preferable when the brake is upgraded for greater resistance.

Mounting and included hardware

The table clamp is included and provides the simplest desk installation. For a cockpit or wheel stand, use the four bottom mounting holes and a compatible mounting plate. The package also includes the power adapter, power cord, USB cable, toolkit, user manual and warranty card.

Software and configuration

MOZA Pit House manages wheel-base force feedback, steering angle, pedal curves, button mapping, device status and firmware. MOZA lists NexGen 4.0 force-feedback processing for the R5 platform. Configuration should be based on the game, vehicle and mounting setup rather than on a single maximum-force setting.

Upgrade and comparison path

For a lower-torque starting point, the active MOZA R3 Racing Wheel and Pedals for PC uses 3.9 Nm while also using a 15-bit encoder and 1000 Hz USB refresh rate. The R5 raises peak torque to 5.5 Nm. If you want to stay with a complete bundle, the MOZA R5 Pro Racing Simulator Bundle moves to 6 Nm and a 21-bit encoder. For a larger step in the same ecosystem, the MOZA R9 V3 Direct Drive Wheel Base is a separate 9 Nm wheel base with a 21-bit encoder; it does not replace the wheel and pedals included with this bundle. How does the R5 compare with the R3 PC bundle?

The R5 is rated at 5.5 Nm versus 3.9 Nm for the R3 PC bundle. Both are listed with 15-bit encoder resolution and 1000 Hz USB refresh rate, so the clearest hardware step is the higher R5 torque output.

Is the MOZA R5 Racing Bundle compatible with Xbox or PlayStation?

This exact R5 Racing Bundle is manufacturer specified for Windows PC. Do not infer console support from the MOZA brand or from the separate Xbox-licensed R3 bundle.

Does the R5 Bundle include a clutch pedal?

No. The SR-P Lite set in the standard package contains throttle and brake only. The compatible SR-P Lite Clutch Pedal is an optional separate product.

Can the R5 be mounted to a cockpit instead of a desk?

Yes. The wheel base has four mounting holes on the bottom for a compatible rig or wheel stand. The included table clamp is the alternative for desk use.

When is the R9 V3 a more logical next step?

Choose based on the complete setup rather than torque alone. The R9 V3 increases wheel-base torque to 9 Nm and uses a 21-bit encoder, but it is a standalone base, so a steering wheel, pedals and suitable mounting must be selected separately.

Everything is amazing with this steering wheel, very responsive and the force feedback for 5.5nm is amazing! Only thing is where we plug the power cable on the wheel base, sometimes can be hard to take it out but other than that all is great! Delivery was smooth, and I know now where to buy my sim racing equipment with no hassles!

Good build quality for this price , easy to assemble. My frist DD drive and I think it is good value for money for casual and sim entry level. Pedals are the weak spot, but that is probably ok because everybody will eventually look for their own prefered replacement.

A highly recommended set

Coming from a Logitech Formula Force EX (around 2006...), this is a truly significant improvement in the racing experience and has rekindled the joy of playing racing games. The quality of the wheel, base, and pedals is excellent. The force feedback is unparalleled compared to what I was used to. The PitHouse software for configuration also works great, and by saving and loading your settings, switching between different games and their associated settings is super quick and easy. It's modular and therefore expandable with other wheels or a Multi-function Stalk.
All in all, a very satisfied user. My son already had one, so I was already familiar with the quality and durability of this set. Now we can race each other!

Perfecte upgrade van Logitech

Een topset als vervanging voor de good-old G29.
Stiller, sterker en meer kwaliteit. De pedalen gemonteerd op een houten plaat om kantelen (bij remmen) te voorkomen, wat uiteraard niet hoeft als de set in een rig wordt gemonteerd.
De PC software is uitgebreid en voorzien van presets voor veel spellen.
